Balsam of Peru comes from the bark of the Peruvian Balsam Tree. It has a vanilla fragrance and is found in many products such as perfumes, shampoos, conditioners and body lotions. As a topical treatment for scabies and skin mites, apply a thin smear of Balsam of Peru to dry skin after bathing and leave on for 24 hours. Recommended for short-term use only.
